Our life aboard the BlueBelle

Paul and I often find beasties under our boat- all manner of beasties.  Barracuda, shrimps, barjack, grunts, but our favorite beasties are Remoras. The size of small sharks, they suction onto our boat and wait for food scraps before they come darting out to eat them.  Often they swim out aggressively at us when we jump in the water- enough to make us a bit nervous, although we’re not on their menu.  And of course, the scariest beasties are the ones that live not under the boat, but in our imaginations.

Enjoy this short video of Ramona the Remora and her pal Beezus, in St John, USVI.

I have had much the same thoughts as you shared in your text; and I very much respect your thoughts; in my own vocabulary I think of all these creatures as “people” and in my own thoughts always regard them with respect; so it has become very easy for me to feel respect for any news of any creature and their actions in our world. Hope you understand this. I love you deeply and feel much respect for your regard to all these creatures; in some way, your compassion brings us closer.
