Our life aboard the BlueBelle

Continued from before-

Did we ever find Perdu? No.  I wish we could say that we did.  But we did find our sea legs and our way on the water.  When we set out two years ago, I didn’t know how to sail a catamaran, or how to live on the boat. It didn’t even feel like it was allowed to sail your own boat from island to island, country to country.  But we have learned that it is allowed, and it is possible.

Paul and I spent two years cruising the Caribbean, learning the ins and outs of anchorages, immigration rules, foreign groceries and dinghy dock etiquette.  And now we’ve officially left.

We are in the Bahamas, and heading north to the east coast of the US.  This marks the beginning of the next chapter of our journey on the BlueBelle, from little lost travelers to sailors ready to cross oceans.

Enjoy some pictures of the Bahamas. Ever since we left Puerto Rico, we have seen a change in the climate and the trees and the water.  The Bahamas have beautiful, clear, shallow water over white sand. There are pine trees, and the air is much cooler at night- we have put a duvet on our bed. It’s a beautiful place, and we’re so happy to be here
