Well, we’ve come a long way. In a few days, we’ll be celebrating one year of living on our vessel. We’ve traveled hundreds of miles, and to at least 9 Island Nations- but for the first time ever, we are finally within view of the US.

I should be more specific to add that we are within view of a US Territory- the US Virgin Islands, and that we will be spending the next few weeks here. This is the first time, aside from our overnight passage, that we have heard the US Coast Guard on Tintas radio!
We are excited to bring Tintas into US waters. Remember- This boat was built in France, sailed across the Atlantic to Martinique, and was registered with the French Coast Guard. During our purchase of Tintas, we switched her flag to the US Coast Guard, and her homeport is in the United States. But she hasn’t sailed into US waters ever- so this is a first for her!

Paul and I are currently sailing away from Jost Van Dyke, in the British Virgin Islands. We will officially cross over to the US side on Sunday- so just a few more days of cold beans on toast before we’re back to bacon and eggs (metaphorically speaking).
WE love the British Virgin Islands. Almost two years ago- we visited and rented a monohull called the Carelli that we sailed around for 8 days in this very area. It’s been a treat to return as experienced sailors, on a boat we call our home. But more on that recollection another time- for now, we look forward.
With hugs,
Lindsay and Paul
