Key west is a nice place to visit, but I don’t think that we will return. So before I tell you more about the Dry Tortugas, and our experience living in Key west for two months, here is my* definitive rating of Key Lime Pie (KLP) eaten in Key west:

- Pepe’s: this is the most distinctive KLP I ate. Closer to a cheese cake. Distinctive flavor. Grew on me and became my fave by the third bite.
- Harpoon Harry’s– Classic. Amazing crust. Amazing zing.
- Blue Heaven: Zingy, and with an awesome Meringue as big as my head.
- Key Lime Pie Bakery: The first slice I tried on our first night, and just a really creamy and delicious piece of pie. Ranked right in the middle.
- Kermit’s– Mass produced, but still delicious. The most tangy slice we got. Incidentally we bought a whole pie and spent a week eating it. It improved every day.
- Old Town Bakery: Like all things we ate from here, mediocre. Would not recommend.

Notable mention: Harpoon Harry’s Key Lime Pie French Toast, which is actually just regular french toast with a slice of Key Lime Pie in between the bread. So I found myself dipping pie into syrup and calling it breakfast. 10/10 would recommend.
*You might be asking yourself: Wow, Lindsay, did you eat anything else but Pie in Key West? The answer would be no. My main source of nutritional intake was pie. And worth it, including turning a bit pie shaped.
Key West post coming up soon,
Lindsay
